They were dressing to impress an audience of one. Republicans flocked to a Lower Manhattan courthouse Tuesday as a show of solidarity with former President Donald Trump as he attends his criminal hush money trial, now in its fourth week.
North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Florida Rep. Cory Mills held a presser outside 100 Centre Street all sporting dark blue suits, white collared shirts and red ties in a styled effort to pay their respects to the GOP's presumptive presidential nominee.
Isaiah Swift noticed the Trumpian uniform, writing: "All wearing the same tie. Interesting." "Another edition of Who wants to be VP reaches an excruciating climax," read an X post by Jezzytgl.
@asphyxious2 was blunt about the obvious fashion statement, tweeting: "Is that the stand in court with the criminal leader of our party standard uniform they are all wearing?" On MSNBC, Nicolle Wallace called the uniform "clownish." Former prosecutor Andrew Weissmann added it reminded him of mob cases.

Matching diapers would be been appropriate.

(36,027 posts)coming in from outdoors. I asked myself if I I heard republicans were dressing alike to show support for trump. Then I said nah, even Magat politicians aren't that childish.
Imagine my surprise to learn that I heard correctly!
What is wrong with these people? Seriously. There is really something wrong with this picture.

(16,895 posts)And how can they ever look at themselves in the mirror after making such colossal asses of themselves?
If any of those men had so much as an ounce of self-respect or integrity, they'd have to hire someone to shave them from now on, because they'd never want to go near a mirror again. Unfortunately, I don't think either of those qualities are part of their makeup.
I'm not even a Republican, and I'm embarrassed for them! What a pathetic bunch of losers!

(2,231 posts)Didn't understand friends doing it when we were in the difficult years (12-14), because...I don't know why girls wanted to do that. Actually, I never did understand girls group behaviour. Still don't, really.
However... In secondary school, I was one of the 'artsy' crowd, the kids who were into books, creative writing, art, theater, and etc. I don't remember why anymore, but we all decided to go to school one day in these custom T-shirts that had the David Bowie 'Heroes' album cover on the front, Rocky Horror lips on the left shoulder, the Monty Python squishing foot on the right sleeve, and our clique nicknames across the back like football players.
Dressing alike for a weird reason is clever and fun when you're offbeat teenagers with nothing better to do in life.
Not so much when you're adults who are supposedly representatives for a government.

(7,987 posts)Brother George has a few choice words for them:
Have you seen the little piggies crawling in the dirt?
And for all the little piggies, life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in
Have you seen the bigger piggies in their starched white shirts?
You will find the bigger piggies stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in
In their sties with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their life, there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking!
Everywhere there's lots of piggies living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner with their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon
