WHY THE FUCK WON'T THEY?
Let the public see what these fucking guns do to people.
People have become a fucking statistic. 3 Dead, 10 Dead, 20 Dead....it's ALL A FUCKING NUMBER.
Then we hear the back stories of the victims. How wonderful they were, how much potential they had. How many people loved them.
That's all fine and well, but what about the carnage inflicted on these people?
So don't show the mutilated bodies, because people might get upset? Well, WE'RE FUCKING UPSET ALREADY!
Out of sight, out of mind. Let's not offend the delicate nature of people who want to keep their "precious," by showing exactly the bloody wreckage left by one of these instruments of death.

(8,489 posts)But hey, I'm game for anything different than what we've been doing if there is a modicum of a chance things could change.

(6,480 posts)IMHO, one of the key things that turned the country against the Vietnam war was that it started getting served up during the dinner hour nightly news. Black and white images and grainy video that was, at times, rather gruesome.
Let America see what the nra and s ours think the 2A permits.
Im not sure anyone gets desensitized to dead kids in a classroom. Maybe some but not normal folks.
just one mans opinion.

(17,289 posts)It doesn't have to be gory. Pixelate as much as necessary.
Split-screen it. On the left, a picture of the victim in happier days. On the right, a picture of their body lying in a pool of blood.
Add some appropriate text at the bottom, and get right in their faces with it.
Enough is enough. Let 'em scream to the heavens.

(9,999 posts)Even if they showed a video of a mass shooting, the gun humpers would still say, "well, it would have been different if one of them had a gun."

(4,616 posts)is this THEY who should release crime scene photos that you speak of? In an interview with a mother of one of the Uvalde kids, she was asked if she would be willing to release photos of her dead child. She said no, she did not want those images out there forever. She didn't want her child remembered that way and she knew once out there she could never escape them. Is she the they you are so eager to dismiss in your quest to have victim photos released to the public? I can sympathize with her on those points. Wonder what the likes of Alex Jones and his followers would do with those photos? Once they are out there, they are free game. Any one of the families could release photos if they wanted to. But they haven't. Do their wishes not matter?

(9,999 posts)I really don't care anymore. Gun violence is a permanent fixture of this country. We're a worldwide embarrassment.

(5,164 posts)Not want that publicized. And people supporting guns are so crazy I am not sure it would make a difference to them. But I get where you are coming from.
