It's no coincidence that Loose Banana Cannon indefinitely postponed the documents trial on the same day that Stormy Daniels cut Motherfucker's flaccid penis off. All of MAGAthood thought this was just another installment of reality TV, but now they are facing the real and growing possibility that that fucking sack of shit is going to prison.
And once President Biden is returned to office with Democratic majorities in the House and Senate the insurrectionists currently infesting Congress will be duly rounded up under the new, hyperaggressive DoJ leadership headed by AG Sally Yates.
Time to clean out the Augean Stables.
Think. Again.

Nauta is a US Navy veteran, so he absolutely knew what he was doing was wrong.

(2,067 posts)He said he'd clean up all the dung in the stables of King Augeus in a day, and accomplished it by piling all the filth to one part of the barn. He dug a giant hole on one side of the barn, knocked out some walls (I guess it didn't have doors on opposite walls for air flow), built trenches to the barn on one side and between barn and hole on the other. Then he diverted the river to the trench going toward it.
Water washed out all the dung into the hole. He did have the help of one of the princes. Forget his name now.
The king tried to renege on the deal he made with Hercules for the job (1/10 of his cattle herd as payment). Hercules took him to court and won, thanks to the prince testifying that the deal did exist. The King banished them and I don't think Hercules ever got the cattle. But it's been a while since that Classical antiquities course. I'm sure I've forgotten or misremembered plenty of the entire tale.

(159 posts)... but instead, went BADLY the other way:
"The fifth Labour of Heracles (Hercules in Latin) was to clean the Augean (/ɔːˈdʒiːən/) stables. Eurystheus intended this assignment both as humiliating (rather than impressive, like the previous labours) and as impossible, since the livestock were divinely healthy (immortal) and therefore produced an enormous quantity of dung. Those stables had not been cleaned in over thirty years,[12] and 3,000 cattle lived there. However, Heracles succeeded by rerouting the rivers Alpheus and Peneus to wash out the filth.
Augeas reacted angrily because he had promised Heracles one tenth of his cattle if the job was finished in one day. He refused to honour the agreement, and Heracles killed him after completing the tasks. Heracles gave his kingdom to Phyleus, Augeas' son, who had been exiled for supporting Heracles against his father."

(22,921 posts)Republicans are certain to pick up Manchin's seat in WV, and, Hogan is currently well ahead in MD for another Republican pickup. Dems are defending far more senate seats in 2024 than Republicans are, some of them in States that normally vote Republican. I think we will have to defeat Cruz in TX to retain the Senate.

(35,978 posts)from an article dated April 7. If anyone has updates, please provide them:
snip
Ben Cardin this November, when control for the Senate is up for grabs. The longtime safe blue seat, in a state President Joe Biden carried by over 30 points in 2020, is now suddenly competitive, complicating the calculus for Democrats as they look to defend around half a dozen more vulnerable seats in order to retain their slim Senate majority.
Meanwhile, Democrats remain divided over who to select as their nominee in the May 14 primary. Its become an increasingly contentious two-way contest between Rep. David Trone, a three-term congressman and founder of the beverage retailer Total Wine & More, and Prince Georges County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, a former state attorney for the county.
With the contours of the race are still taking shape, Democrats are already signaling they plan to nationalize the race and tie Hogan to the most extreme elements of his party, even as Hogan tries to run as an independent-minded candidate and keep his distance from former President Donald Trump.
Hes going to vote and caucus with Republicans. So lets get that idea that hes some sort of, you know, bipartisan individual thats just not true, Trone told CNN during an interview at his campaign headquarters. Hes Mitch McConnells prized recruit.
Source: CNN via Yahoo News

One advantage we have is that Hogan does not really want to do this run for the Senate seat. We could demoralize him and minimize his candidacy, as we have in a few other races.

(942 posts)The two rivers did all the work for Heracles (not Hercules); also, King Augeus refused to pay since Eurystheus assigned the task - and banished Heracles to boot. In short, it's a metaphor for smelly, dirty work that only benefited a bunch of cows and only left the doer covered in shit.
