Round 1 started this morning around 5 am!

Heavy rain, hail, flooding, high winds moved the Omaha area. Up to 6 inches of rain in a little over 2 hours. Major flooding in some of the Omaha suburbs. We were under a tornado warning for a bit, but none touched down.

I live on the north edge of Omaha and had hail about 1/4 inch in size, heavy rain and strong winds. Hopefully no damage to my roof or eaves? Sump pump did it job and ran for about 2 hours.

Now the storm has moved off to the east, but the storm has produced some tornadoes.

Round 2 is still on the way in the next 3 hours.

Hope for the safety anyone in the path of these strong storms?

I see we have rain coming in but followed by clear and hot.

I used to take my vacations and go rafting about the first week of August. It was guaranteed clear and hot. On the river canyons here in the summer, even if it dumps rain, you won't get cold enough to even bring a jacket. Your life vest is plenty.

I'd have to be out of my mind to plan anything that time of year now. That late in the summer you'd be lucky if your favorite camp site out of the smoke zone.

Might be a heavy thunderstorm. It's already getting dark.
