That was the weakest defense case I've ever seen. Are they expecting a guilty verdict? To whom do they appeal the verdict? I don't know how it works. Do they appeal to the NY state supreme court? Are they waiting for SCOTUS to rule on immunity? Would immunity even apply considering this crime was committed before he was elected in 2016?

This is so weird.

The reimbursements may have taken place in 2017, but the actions took place before the election of 2016. So TSF has no standing on that point.
