Gov. Scott Walker has declared a state of emergency in Wisconsin because of the pending blizzard.

The executive order is now in effect and will continue through Thursday.

"I issued this executive order to make sure Wisconsin is prepared for whatever this winter storm may bring," Walker said.

"Mobilizing our state agency resources during this storm will ensure we leave nothing to chance when it comes to protecting the citizens of Wisconsin," Walker said.

This is the latest in the year we, in Chicago, haven't had any measurable snow. It's about time.

Some are hoping for this snow/precipitation. The midwest is still suffering from last year's drought...any type of H2O isn't a bad thing right now. We'll plough our way out...most of us have been through worse.
