Steubenville sheriff: "We have a good idea who this Anonymous person is. I know where he lives."

‘Enough is enough’
Abdalla: Hackers are attacking the innocent
January 5, 2013
By DAVE GOSSETT - Staff writer (dgossett@heraldstaronline.com) , The Herald-Star

STEUBENVILLE - A visibly angry Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said Friday night his department and other agencies are now investigating an unofficial Anonymous member who has claimed credit for last week's protest rally and a second rally scheduled to be held at noon today on Market Street.

"Anonymous can say whatever they want to say about me. But when you attack innocent people and young children, I am coming after you," Abdalla declared during a Friday evening press conference in his office.

"We have a good idea who this Anonymous person is. I know where he lives. I know his mother's name, his father's name and his brother's name. This is not the real Anonymous. Enough is enough. You had your fun. People will believe what they want to believe. But I credit the Steubenville Police Department for the job they did. They had the investigation into this incident wrapped up in four or five days after the rape was reported to them in August," continued Abdalla.

Steubenville City Manager Cathy Davison announced late Friday afternoon the city will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. today to discuss the focus on the city regarding the rape investigation.

when that inhuman video was made?

And why would a police chief be so angry about the exposure of that video -- he should be elated for the heads-up on those creeps.

The ugliness is unfolding like a 1970s B-movie -- a small-town sheriff having no more moral fortitude than to hold a press conference for the purpose of threatening the messenger? No mention of the real crime? And you have to wonder if he's basing the identity on assumption or perception; does he have evidence? My guess is he's a member of Dubya's shoot-from-the-hip club & he's all bluster.

The sheriff probably questioned the one who made the video first, then maybe got a list of people he sent a copy to, & he could be basing his suspicion on that list. "We know who you are...we know your brother." Pretty pathetic thing for a sheriff to say publicly when he's obviously not sure.

But it should be kept on the down low, only between him and the lawyer, he has no need to reveal anything about himself or his motivations for revealing the video. If they know who he is for sure they can get together and try to make him look like he was involved (ie, lie, say he was there during the incident and participated, etc).

"We were asked to become involved by the local prosecuting attorney," said DeWine. "This is not unusual when there are (potential) conflicts with the local prosecutor."

Jefferson County Prosecutor Jane Hanlin has recused herself from the case, as has Jefferson County Juvenile and Probate Judge Sam Kerr...."Our job is to find the truth - not to just seek prosecution, but to seek justice," said DeWine. "The community should have great confidence we are approaching this with in an unbiased manner. It's a visiting judge. You have an independent attorney general's office prosecuting the case."

37. I can only speculate that this is not the only incident involving this "rape gang".
Sat Jan 5, 2013, 05:48 AM
Jan 2013

So much of this doesn't make sense. This level of criminality rarely, if ever, happens as a spontaneous, one-time event. Those boys had to feel awfully sure of themselves to tape what was going on. And why would the sheriff feel so compelled to side so quickly with the rapists and abusers if this were the one and only time something like this happened? Sadly, this town probably has a lot more dark secrets to reveal before it can return to a sense of justice.

since he has his entire families name i`d think he knows the name of who did this.

he must be covering for some kids with wealthy families. if these kids were poor whites or blacks the powers to be would have convicted them by now.

Your a$$ $heriff you can actually do the honorable thing and pursue the guilty parties.....honestly, and this is MHO, my guess is that 95% of LEO's want to keep their communities safe....that has been my general thoughts based solely on my personal experiences...but it's the human colostomy bags like this Buford T. Justice wanna-be that f@ck it up for the others...

Movie flashback....the Sheriff in the first Rambo movie...he's somewhere between him and that campus security douche who pepper sprayed all those protesters in California....it's like a bad 70's cop vrs. Hippy movie in real time.....

Where is the citizen's outrage?

Sat Jan 5, 2013, 09:51 AM
Jan 2013

Sheriff, you might not know this, but Anonymous is a VERY powerful organization, with a VERY short temper and a VERY long memory.
You REALLY don't want to piss these people off, and right now they're already angry at you.

Do you really want ALL of them (rather than just the one guy) up in your grill? Finding out what other dirty, dark, and buried secrets you and your department has? Trust me, they WILL find those secrets. Ask Scientology about that.
http://leaksource.wordpress.com/tag/fred-abdalla/

Just be quiet, gather the evidence, put the rapists away, and hopefully they'll forget about you and move on.

all kinds of things are going to be dragged out into the light of day. Anonymous isn't afraid to go after large defense contractors that specifically deal in internet security. Does this blithering idiot think for one minute they are afraid of him? He's a corrupt piece of shit, and Anonymous seems to make a specialty of revealing the heinous crimes of people just like him.

He just served his own ass on a silver platter for their perusal.

"We know where you live" is a bullying threat; an offensive threat made by individuals with a history of bully pulpit tactics; which Stubenville seems to have a long history of.

If I were this individual, and I had suspiscion the Sheriff were talking to me; I would hire an attorney immediately.

Sat Jan 5, 2013, 12:35 PM
Jan 2013

little or nothing has been done (the athletes who have not been jailed and may not have even been removed from their football team), and a sheriff says with respect to someone who revealed this:

""We have a good idea who this Anonymous person is. I know where he lives. I know his mother's name, his father's name and his brother's name."

More details can be found here with respect to the attitudes of the public officials in this small Ohio town:
