(58,724 posts)That's what I was asking. What's a dirty budget bill? Is there such a thing? Seems like a reasonable question.

(17,241 posts)Getting rid of ACA is a legislative item.
Passing money for government functions like subsidies, schools, the military are budget items.
What Boehner and the House Terrorist Guard want is a budget bill with stuff in it that will get removed, if "bad" for them, and expanded, if "good" for them.

(58,724 posts)Why is the term "clean" used?

(17,241 posts)They put stuff in bills. Is how we get stuff done. But it should not be in budget bills.

I am sadly not as well-informed about this situation as I should be.

(8,267 posts)I work for a die-hard -- and, apparently, delusional -- republican, who just today informed me that the only reason that Obama got re-elected was because "dead, or non-existent, or black, or brown people voted for him." He then observed that only people "on the dole" voted for Obama.
Needless to say, I cannot refute or contradict him, because I'd be out of a job, and likely unable to get another, in this deeply red state.
Just think: there are hundreds of thousands of sadly delusional people who are still drinking the kool-aide, still virulently racist, still hate-filled...

(50,812 posts)If you get a chance for another job, take it.
I used to work for a rabid RWer too. For 10 years I listened to that crap.
It would have been better for me financially to have kept the job, but my life would have been so much worse if I had stayed.

(959 posts)what the baggers have on Boehner. It is not a sane stance that he is taking, when most of his own caucus wants a clean bill. There has to be a reason he is refusing to take this to the floor out of hand; is there a hooker somewhere, a dead body, a live boy? The fear on this guy is almost palpable; I think he is possibly going to wind up in a bad, bad place before this is over. He doesn't have the coping skills for this kind of warfare.

(47,163 posts)and the tea party faction fails miserably. Failed in the elections, failed in congressional votes, failed in the courts, failed in popular opinion, and resorted to holding our country hostage like thugs. They can't accept that they lost. The voters need to teach them a lesson their party will NEVER forget.
