1. Since most DUers will not know what Tengr.ai is, you should be clear that it's AI-generated art. Which can

be generated by anyone, often in under 10 seconds, typically with at least a few different options created by the AI for the AI user to choose from, and typically with the AI continuing to offer different options it's generated from the same prompt, if the user doesn't like any of the first options offered by the software.

Tengr.ai probably, like most AI image generators, was trained on a dataset of stolen images, taken without permission and used without compensation. The professional artists I've been hearing from on Twitter believe those image generators should be destroyed by what's called disgorgement.

The companies behind the AI image generators could of course have used only images in the public domain, or asked for permission to use the images in their training data, and paid for them if the artist requested payment. They chose not to.

2. Las Vegas Mixx, there are a lot of websites online for people using AI to create art to share it with others

who also think AI art is wonderful. Of course there, they'll be surrounded by lots of other people who might be posting lots of different AI-generated images every day. As opposed to forums where people are creating their own art, from their own talent and skill, which takes much more time.

I understand that people who are excited by having AI generate something for them in seconds, from whatever idea crosses their mind, often want to share it.

But it can quickly bury everything else.

Twitter's been swamped recently not just by AI-generated art, but by AI-generated music.

And I saw someone posting there the other day to complain that not everyone she knows wanted to listen to her AI-generated music, and too many of them were also posting their own AI-generated music, and people just weren't willing to give much attention and applause to all the new AI-generated music out there from people who weren't musicians. She complained about how unfair it was that people didn't want to listen to HER AI-generated music, when they SHOULD.

She was so entranced by the AI making her think her AI creations were special, and were hers, that she didn't consider how AI generation devalues what's being created, since it doesn't require work or skill, doesn't require much time, and may not reflect much intention since the same prompt can often get very different results.

Just as AI-generated text here, whether from a human or chatbot, would if accepted here open a floodgate until any real discussions here would be buried under AI fake discussions, using DU to share AI art or music could quickly lead to the same thing.

Again, there are forums for AI art lovers who love to talk about different prompts, etc. Some of them may have limits on how many images members can post every day, since otherwise people might decide to post at least hundreds of "their" AI-generated images a day. But those are better places for AI art.
