48. Excellent point.
In fact, I think Kerry should've pushed Bush on the abortion issue. Bush has said he does not favor overturning Roe v Wade, but you'd be hard-pressed to find many republicans who are aware of that. Kerry should've MADE Bush come out explicitly one way or the other. Kerry had nothing to lose - a clear majority of Americans favor keeping abortion legal.

In all the turmoil of the campaign season, this never occurred to me. But very good point.

And yes, legislatively, nothing has been done. I just wish poor women still had the same access they used to have. Here in Texas (I know, no shocker) we even have the state legislature cutting health care services to poor women so that they don't even have access to birth control pills, for fucking crying out loud.
