Remember, back in the 1800's, Slaves were killed if they did anything like take an interest in reading or writing. Education & free will are two of the greatest enemies to the Conservative mindset. Why do you think Rush fans are all called 'dittoheads' - its because they are incapable of rational, individual thought. However, Groupthink is a dangerous, flawed concept - and its going to come back to bite them.

By the way, conservatism pretty much goes against the laws of nature - as, in order to evolve, we need to expand .. NOT contract.
