But sudden stress on the grid can lead to brownouts,
Today is the day I'm heading into the office after my next TEAMs meeting. 20 years ago, I used to enjoy solar flare or excessive heat days; everyone but essential workers would be told to take the day off to save power. Work from home if you had a laptop or home network setup; otherwise, save energy before ENRON cut the state off...

But now, the majority of the office power comes from a massive solar panel farm covering all the building rooftops. Other than the main server rooms and some machinery spaces, everything is covered by solar.
So we don't get "brownout"/grid protection days off work during the summer anymore. Damn.

Sorry that you days off but I think it is appalling that the TX power was not up to face expected conditions.

The best I’ve had was at the Wynn hotel. They used mashed bananas (instead of eggs to make it vegan) on French bread and it was sooo good. I’ve used Just Egg (liquid egg replacement) and it’s good, but the banana version was better. I don’t enjoy cooking and recently found Van’s frozen pancakes that you pop in the microwave and they are way better than any pancake I’ve ever made 😬

It would take years to fully repair the electric grid, given how many transformers alone would be blown.

It's not a stretch to say it would kill tens of millions globally.
