It makes me despair for the intelligence of the American voter.

Although after 2016 I should know better.

I don't doubt in the least that it's close, but Trump's appeal will never make sense, and President Biden's approval ratings are pretty inexplicable, as well. I don't know what people think they see, but so many of them are living in some fantasy world.

The biggest unknown is how much damage the third party candidates will do - it’s Trump’s only path to an Electoral College victory.

Sending weekly newspapers to women voters in battleground States. Local news and political stories.

Can shift voters 2-6% towards Biden.

So Biden needs to win PA, MI and WI, plus the one vote in NE. AZ and NV don’t matter on that scenario. Smart to focus on the Midwest.

Especially the piece about inflation v. unemployment.

The economy has been in a robust recovery for more than two years now — with unemployment hitting a 54-year low in 2023 and increasing only slightly since then — but Biden is getting little credit for it. The shift here is stark. On the question of whom voters trust more to deal with the economy, Trump has a 22-point lead over Biden, according to an NBC poll from January. This marks a 15-point bump for Trump compared to the same poll in 2020. Perhaps this is because inflation is a far more pervasive problem than unemployment, affecting all Americans every day.

First Presidential election without Rush Limbaugh juicing turnouts. RW echo chamber not working the same way now. Don't know what effect will be.

Media Matters focusing on identify potential new sources of RW messageing; identify fault lines and get them to fight with each other.

Focused attention on NBC hiring Ronna McDaniel

Americans are usually economic voters. Frame abortion as an economic issue.

Frame impact of Biden economic record from actual voters.

Voters are split 46-46. Fighting over remaining 8.

The average undecided voter thinks about politics five minutes a week.

President Biden needs to get "caught trying" to deal with immigration. Can't be the "crime issue" we experienced in 2022.
