I live in the city and the carriers have a lot of houses to visit as it is.

7. Just came home from the grocery store with canned goods, pasta, Tuna and other items.

Got a reminder postcard in my mailbox Wednesday, so I assume my 3 bags will be picked up. If not they'll go to the local food pantry where i used to volunteer.

They're not going to carry food along with their mail deliveries.

so I'm not doing it any more. They do have trucks, but they park them and then walk their routes, which seem to be many blocks. There's no way that if a bag of food was offered at each house, they could carry all that stuff back to their trucks.

carrier pick up the donated goods from carriers as they continue on their routes to lighten their load.
