This was a very interesting article.

My wife often scolds me for not seeing things from her perspective. And it's true, often I don't. Yes, my hands are much larger than hers. I'll confess, I never thought about piano keyboards.

Ugly conservatism and sexism are everywhere. I'm absolutely certain there are men who feel threatened by this petition, fearful that some woman or any other person with smaller hands might outshine them.

5. if anyone is interested- there's a fb group for this and i found someone who does retrofits.

i posted a thread there looking for a mechanic who can do this. a guy popped up, offering to do the job.
tho he is in oregon, but said he will travel to pick up and deliver anywhere.
he says he’s going to b in chgo this week. i cant let the antique beauty i’m looking at out of my sight. but anyone considering this shd check him out.

6. A smaller keyboard for smaller hands makes sense, but I wonder how long it takes to adjust?

After all, most people, regardless of their hand size, will have been practicing their whole lives with what is now considered the “standard” size keyboard. It seems like that’s got to throw off your muscle memory for a while.

My brother of blessed memory was a concert pianist and composer and had gigantic hands for a man his size. I have relatively small hands and struggled mightily besides not having any real talent for performance. I would have loved to play a smaller keyboard.
