(540 posts)Be calling for their arrest.
Traitors.
Some Dem needs to say it at this moment in history.
But they wont.
They want to be reasonable and play safe while compromised traitors run the country.
I hope they get mean some day.
The future of the world depends on it.

Lindsay does love playing golf with Trump. He gets the vapors watching Donald drive.

(41,526 posts)They seem to forget (or be unaware of) the times the label treason was tossed at those of us on the left that protested the Vietnam War by resisting the draft, counseling others to resist the draft, blocked recruitment centers and military installations, etc.
We're not at war with Russia. There are indicia of a state of war. For starters, countries that are at war don't maintain diplomatic relations or allow trade or civilian travel. If we were at war, the NATO alliance would be obligated to involve itself. Russia has not been designated an enemy under the Trading with the Enemies Act. And so on and so forth.

(31,441 posts)Even Trump will probably not be charged with treason, the thing that he's clearly guilty of. Treason is difficult to prove even when the country is at war. The guys who know what they're doing - that would be Bob Mueller and his team - will probably bring charges of conspiracy and obstruction of justice against Trump and various other complicit Republicans. These charges are much easier to prove with documents and testimony already collected and in the bag.
Right now Mueller has a very full plate.

(1,387 posts)Graham's one of the savviest pols in DC. He knows Trump is going down.
I take no pleasure in the thought of him being blackmailed . He's to damn smart to accept that as his fate and I have a hard time seeing him not fight back. I hope he went to the FBI if that's the case.
I can only imagine what his staffers are thinking at this point. I'd be very scared and very worried if I worked for Graham .
Grassley's, well, he's just another idiot.

(50,866 posts)I called yesterday. I left messages that said " We want you to release the testimony as you said you would on live TV on Aug 28. Why have you done a 180 now? Why have you gone back on your word? I know your excuses that you have given yet others who read the testimony don't agree with your excuses to keep it secret. We constituents aren't stupid and we will remember your actions when my family, friends and
coworkers, who are as angry as I am, go to the polls. You are not representing your constituents. Why are you obstructing? Are you being blackmailed?" Whose side are you on?".
Then on #7 call a real person answered and told me Feinstein just released 300 pages of the transcript. What timing!

(61,576 posts)Grassley and the referral to DoJ for prosecution as being a diversion from the real threat. Of course, senators can't call each other traitors, but I think Whitehouse and DiFi did a good job of pointing out how self-serving (themselves and DOTUS) the referral to DoJ was.
