Lying about Russian involvement is one thing; Trump boasting about his wealth which turns out to be lower would be something different.

It doesn’t matter what the lie is as long as a lie is proven. Trump could lie, or forget about something as mundane as whether he had McDonalds or KFC but as long as Mueller catches him in a lie it’s perjury. Once we have perjury we can impeach and remove him from office.
So let’s give Mueller all the leeway here, all that really matters is that Mueller is able to charge something. Once we have that the media can run with it and the end is in sight.

As if things like lying to the FBI don't matter.

But of course, in reality, it is not like that.

Contradictory testimony has to be substantive and repeated. No one-off oopsie on some minor detail.

Since a Perjury Trap was the entire basis for Clinton's Impeachment.

We remember. We don't forget.

What he's really saying is "I am overcome with the dread that *he* is such a godawful imbecile that he won't see what's coming, or so blinded by his delusions of adequacy as I'm sure he is."

Of all the "what if," "this is the one" and "Oh, dear lord, I hope so!" scenarios, the one I am absolutely certain of is that an unmanaged "interview" with Mueller would not end well for him. He's shown that he can't even win a debate with himself.

he just sidesteps everything. it could be perjury in one sentence, the exact opposite the next. i think the strategy will be confusion. confronted with testimony that both confirms and denies everything, what would they do?
