The Republican coverup for Trump just got much worse

House Republicans may have the power to prevent important facts about President Trump and Russia from coming to public light. But here’s what they don’t have the power to do: prevent important facts about their own conduct on Trump’s behalf from coming to public light.

<snip>

In an interview with me this morning, Rep. Adam B. Schiff — the ranking Democrat on the Intel Committee — confirmed that Democrats will issue a minority report that will seek to rebut the GOP conclusions.

But here’s the real point to understand about this minority report: It will detail all the investigative avenues that House Republicans declined to take — the interviews that they didn’t conduct, and the leads that they didn’t try to chase down and verify. And Schiff confirmed that the report will include new facts — ones that have not been made public yet — that Republicans didn’t permit to influence their conclusions.

“There’s no way for them to reach the conclusions that they want to start with unless they ignore or mischaracterize what we’ve been able to learn,” Schiff said, adding that the minority report would also “set out the investigative steps that were never taken to answer further questions about the Russians and the Trump campaign’s conduct.”

it is more important now than ever to identify all Russiacins that have taken money from Russia while on the payroll of the unUnited States Of America. The specific Russiacan members of the House Intelligence Committee should be immediately impeached for for their obvious and intentional traitorous behavior.

Further, Paul Ryan and Bitch McConnell should be subpoena to appear immediately before Mueller and Co.

will prove their "report" phony.

I don't get it. Rep. Schiff said they lost their way. I guess probably none of them woke up one morning deciding to betray their country, to be people they never saw themselves as, doing things they couldn't imagine doing. Just followed orders and here they are? Beached without orders? Hoping for a "miracle" on November 6 to create Fortress DC for them?

CNN: "After the House intelligence committee announced it was shutting down its probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, a Republican who sits on it said he believes the committee has lost its credibility.

"We have gone completely off the rails, and now we're basically a political forum for people to leak information to drive the day's news," GOP Rep. Tom Rooney said during an interview on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."

independent commission last June and then we got Mueller who could still be fired! Reps in the House and Senate even wrote bills/legislation but McConnell and Ryan shelved it. This was one of the rallies I went to in the past 18 months...calling for this. I still have my protest sign. If the Dems win in the midterms the ones on the House Intel Com. said that they will televise the interviews and make it transparent for a start. Maybe they will also finally get the independent Commission (like there was for 911) that we need...one that can't be derailed by the traitors/GOP or fired by the fucking moron.

From the article:

The House GOP decision to end the probe is being widely portrayed in the press (as always) as the result of partisan fighting. Some news accounts have repeated with a straight face the idea that House Republicans are ending the investigation out of frustration with Democratic efforts to use the probe for political purposes.

The "Some news accounts" links to the NYT.
It's bothsiderism for eyeballs all over again.
There really is a difference between politics and criminal obstruction of justice. Guess the NYT doesn't know that. Or thinks there's more money in not admitting it.

GOPers never intended to investigate anything. Only Rep. Rooney is making sense among Republicans. Think about that for a minute. GOPers just lied, in unison, to preserve Russia's place in US government. Only ONE Republican is able to pull himself away from Putin and Trumpy' grip long enough to talk common sense. Only ONE.
