Facebook and Cambridge Analytica worked side by side at a Trump campaign office in San Antonio

When Facebook announced Monday that it had hired a digital forensics company to conduct an audit of Cambridge Analytica, the consultant that harvested the data of 50 million people without their permission, Facebook appeared to once again distance itself from the UK company.
In fact, Facebook and Cambridge Analytica worked side-by-side for the 2016 Donald Trump campaign at its digital operation in San Antonio, Texas—a year after the tech giant discovered that Cambridge Analytica had access to the Facebook users’ data in violation of the company’s policies. In a 2017 BBC report, Therese Wong, a “digital guru” for the Trump campaign walks journalist Jamie Bartlett through the San Antonio office, showing him the room out of which Cambridge Analytica operated—”the brain” of the operation, she says. Nearby were desks where Facebook employees sat embedded with the Trump campaign.

Many of the "Tech Gods" were dismayed when Donald Trump - who holds a very different worldview - won the American presidency. But did they actually help him to win?
A key insider from the Trump campaign's digital operation - Theresa Wong - unravels for the first time the role played by social media and Facebook's in getting Trump into the White House.
Jamie Bartlett learns how Facebook's vast power to persuade was first built for advertisers, combining data about our internet use and psychological insights into how we think.

For a media always looking for eyes and clicks, sensational fake stories are created, then spread as false sense of interest builds.
"Into the bloodstream". Then. the crazy talk gets a force multiplier effect.

That woman is so giddy about deceiving people..."Trump wouldn't have gotten elected without us. He invested all of his campaign money with this operation".

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/17/world/europe/russians-indicted-mueller.html

They seem all over the place...but Mueller probably now knows how they connected to tRump.

Here's one detail:

https://www.texastribune.org/2018/02/16/texas-grassroots-group-communicated-russians-indicted-election-meddlin/

The indictment came from a grand jury involved with the investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into tampering, possible collusion and other issues related to the 2016 presidential election. Thirteen Russians in all were indicted, along with an organization called the Internet Research Agency that was “engaged in political and electoral interference operations.”

The 37-page document details numerous Russian operations across the United States, especially in swing states like Florida. But Texas is mentioned several times.

It identifies neither the Texas group the Russians are alleged to have communicated with nor the person affiliated with the group. But it says the alleged conspirators created a fake American named "Matt Skiber" to communicate through. And, the indictment says, the Russians "learned from the real U.S. person that they should focus their activities on 'purple states like Colorado, Virginia & Florida.'"

There was a Russian Facebook page called, "Heart of Texas". But I don't think it was created in Texas.

Brad Parscale (Project Alamo and Trump's 2020 campaign manager) is from San Antonio. He has his own firm, but has connections to Cambridge Analytica which he is downplaying.
