1. McCaskill has an election to win, let her win it.

3. Absolutely true. She is in a tough battle & hopefully, with all the problems going on in MO with

their governor, she just might be able to hold on to her seat. Dems need to pay attention & give her all the support they can because she can win. In fact somewhere, maybe, FiveThirtyEight, she was a couple of points ahead.

Greitens the governor may end up getting impeached.

7. Its not helpful for her to try to win elections by actively undermining her fellow Dems

She doesn’t have to praise the case, but she shouldn’t line up with our opponents and give them additional ammunition and talking points.

I seem to recall this same Senator just a few weeks ago criticizing Hillary Clinton for being critical of Trump supporters, saying her comments weren’t “helpful” and telling her she should “be more careful.”

McCaskill should take her own advice.

2. Their public statements have no impact on the lawsuit.

The lawsuit will be decided in court. Meanwhile, many Democrats need to win re-election. Let them say what they need.

4. Cook has Spier plus 27.

Their elections do not hinge on their very early and
very public dissing the DNC

6. May not hurt Spier

But it hurts red state Dem senators and it hurts candidates in house districts that we need to flip. It’s a dumb move especially from an organization who is suppose to help Dems win elections

5. I think the lawsuit is dumb and doesnt help this year

Just something that Republicans can bring up to excite the rabid right wing base.

15. You do understand that we are going after GOP seats in 18 right?

So...exciting the base while making some happy isn't really going to help us take the House.

9. I guarantee its exciting the Democratic base more

We are finally fighting back. When our leadership does it, it gives us more courage.

Trump supporters are fighting to defend the indefensible. It’s hard to rally widespread support for open hate.

14. The base won't help McCaskill win election in a red state and without her survival, we won't get the

Senate so...despite the 'exciting the base' I don't blame her at all, and I hope it works and she remains in office.

16. As do I

Gov Greiten’s refusal to resign in the face of two felony indictments helps her cause. There are a lot of disaffected Republicans who might vote for her.

17. I think it should have been done after the election but by November

it should be old news...and maybe discovery will help us.

20. The lawsuit will bring to light details that Fox News does not report - details

about the shady dealings of Trump and his associates. It will also place on full display the shabbiness of the Trump inner circle.

It's a good idea because in a civil case, facts that prosecutors preparing a criminal case must protect, can be made public.

Many Trump supporters who only watch Fox do not have accurate information about why Trump's friends are being investigated by the special counsel.

This civil lawsuit which will be operated under different rules than the criminal case may educate them a bit. We shall see. But that is my point.

Besides, there are real issues to be resolved about just what Michael Cohen did to get the money to pay off Trump's ex-girlfriends.

10. For McCaskill it's a distraction from her campaign

And it distracts from what should be nonstop coverage of our governor.

Lawsuits take years. Her campaign ends at the polls in November. She needs coverage to focus on her campaign and on everything the GOP is doing wrong in and for Missouri. This lawsuit distracts from that focus and has already been referred to as a joke by some state Republicans.

21. local politics are the focus in MO right now

National controversy will only benefit republicans at this moment. Many of them are done with this governor and he they may even be getting close to impeachment. With the second felony indictment, I think they will.
For McCaskill's race, she has an opportunity to keep hammering Hawley's connecttion to the gov. and his exploitation of veterans. Talking about this lawsuit gives Hawley a chance to talk about something that may please his base. We want him to have no break from defending the donations he received from the indicted governor. We especially want republicans to abandon all of their candidates in the voting booth.
