Macron gives Trump a tree: Twitter goes wild!

In what was supposed to be a symbolic gesture, France Prime Minister Emmanual Macron brought a young, European sessile oak tree -- from an historic forest -- to the White House. According to the Huffington Post,

...it came from Belleau Wood, some 60 miles northeast of Paris, which was the site of a World War I battle where 1,811 American Marines died in combat.

But on Twitter, many people noted how Trump’s participation in the planting could be seen as being at odds with his climate change-denying agenda.

Trump has previously called climate change a Chinese hoax, appointed climate change skeptic Scott Pruitt as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, and in June announced his intention to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate accord.

The photo-op involved Macron and Cadet Bone Spurs handling shovels, but Twitter ran away with the story.

Macron bringing Trump a tree as a gift is the PERFECT way to troll him over leaving the Paris Climate Agreement.

Man, that tree looks like it needs, “thoughts and prayers”.

Macron brought the tree and Trump brought the manure.

But it was this Tweet I found most inspirational:

Trump was probably fuming about being given a tree instead of something gold or gem-encrusted. Brilliant trolling on Macron’s part.

"Something gold or gem-encrusted?" What would have been a more appropriate gift for SCROTUS than something to go with his golden toilet? A golden bidet, that resembles a fountain at Versailles?
