I was very sad to see Joan Walsh leave MSNBC. I have been following Joan Walsh for a very long time and I have a great deal of confidence in her judgment. Joan Walsh has been following Joy Reid for a long time and has published Joy Reid. Based on her long experience with Joy Reid, Joan Walsh does not believe the reports on Reid's alleged homophobic remarks

Walsh is honest to admit that she has not read everything that Joy Reid has posted but she does have a good feel for who Joy Reid is.

That is all we need to know.
I believe what Joy says and NOTHING anyone in any of those THREE groups says.

(92 posts)Journalist on the left generally don't have much dirt on them. Failed assaults on Lawrence O'Donnell, Mika and Joe (get rid of Joe as far as I'm concerned. We could all use some morning Will you), several on CNN. Joy is being groomed for a weekday show, probably mid morning, with the way she's sitting in for everyone. She's intelligent, honest, good at her job, an actual journalist....and a strong black woman......the right hates that.

(50,774 posts)offending posts, despite the fact that Joy's posts were generally heavily commented? There are only crickets in the comments sections for the offending posts.
Second, why has no one unearthed these offending posts till now? Joy has been on the air for a good long time. Others have gone looking for ways to take her down, I'm sure. Why were these not found?
The fact that Wikileaks and Greenwald and Nina Turner are pushing this story are enough for me to discount it.
I support Joy. And I miss Joan too.

(67,782 posts)....many responses to many posts on that blog but none in response to the most offensive posts that are there. Looks like Putin's Puppets screwed up when they planted all that crap.
Also the other attempt earlier this year (or late last year?) failed miserably when Joy Reid apologized wholeheartedly and sincerely. I guess it took three or four months to go to "Plan B".

(144,005 posts)I agree with Walsh. If there was the offending language in these blogs, there would have been a ton of strong comments with respect to this material. The bernie types who hacked the site got lazy and forgot to add some comments to the comment section of the blog.

(24,110 posts)it was a hack job, absent evidence to the contrary. But why the pettiness by stooping to unfounded accusations against "Bernie types who hacked the site"? You have zero evidence of that and you know it, so please stop. It's beneath you.

(144,005 posts)The wayback machine does not guarantee anything https://burningbird.net/the-joy-reid-saga-the-wayback-machine-cannot-guarantee-authenticity/#.WuDw69w6PTy.twitter
The Wayback Machine is an invaluable historical record of the web. Through it, Ive been able to recover past writings lost because of all the many changes Ive made to my web site. Its a wonderful way of exploring the webs history.
However, the Wayback Machine is not, and never has been, a definitive source of the authenticity of what it captures on the web. It has access to a web page at a specific location at a specific time but no special privilege that allows it to determine the authenticity of the author of the content in the page.
As noted by Chris Butler at the Internet Archives, home organization for the Wayback Machine:
When we reviewed the archives, we found nothing to indicate tampering or hacking of the Wayback Machine versions. At least some of the examples of allegedly fraudulent posts provided to us had been archived at different dates and by different entities.
Pages archived at different dates and by different entities... This statement is key to understanding the difference between Wayback Machines archival functionality as separate from the medias assumption of Wayback Machine as Super Authenticator, able to leap tall metadata with a single bound!

(16,920 posts)"Not a Bot" who is posting on DailyMail about Reid's blog. His/her syntax is off, as well as punctuation that looks to be beyond just internet sloppy typing. I bet "Jamie Maz, Not a Bot", *IS* a bot.
Great posts, Gothmog!

(7,143 posts)If you scroll past the Joy Reid "posts" (replete with her typical misspellings and grammatical errors) you'll find that she rather despises Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.
How unusual.

(144,005 posts)The attacks on Joy Reid by certain groups are sad https://medium.com/@investigator_21314/the-lynching-of-joy-ann-reid-by-the-bernie-left-c7de005a19fb
Instead of analyzing why POC were critical of Bernie, or why Bernie refused to campaign among POC, they started to harass and intimidate black Twitter users.
The list of victims to this aggressive crowd of Bernie supporters is long by now: Joy Ann Reid, Donna Brazile, Jehmu Greene, Neera Tanden, Kamala Harris, Maxine Waters, Yamiche Alcindor, Zerlina Maxwell, and less known Twitter users: Angry Black Lady (Imani Gandy), T_FisherKing, Mr Dane/ Mr Weeks, Sir James, Ange_Amene, Bravenak and many, many more.
What these people have in common is that
A: theyre POC,
B: theyre at times very critical of Bernie Sanders.
This in itself is enough for ongoing extreme harassment, stalking, threats, intimidation and worse.

(58,724 posts)And none of the people she had monitoring the Reid Report blog were bothered by them either?
Moreover, if the site was hacked back in 2006, that means the posts were still there back when she was allegedly "following" Reid's writing.
