Dance party on the subway on the first warm night in NYC

I'm sharing this here instead of the lounge because this looks like what America is, and will always be. FU to all the fear mongers, hate spreaders and the racist base. And tRump, and especially the MAGA 's. They're not going to win.

2. One of my favorite subway experiences: I came out of the shuttle in Times Square.

I heard from a little way off a real down and dirty Jazz group playing something, but couldn't make out what it was. As I walked near, I saw there was a big crowd around this quartet. As I got even closer, I could see the space right in front of the quartet. What they were playing was the "ABC" song, and there were four tiny little kids, like three or four years old, just dancing in front of them. The big crowd was all just there to watch and enjoy the music and the tiny little dancers.

You've had a lousy day at work, you're headed home in a mood, you hit Union Square and BAM - you see this and realize damn THIS is why I love living in NY.

Where I live, we have a Honk Fest festival (street drum corps is the only way I can explain it) I love that weekend, there is street music everywhere

6. This is one of the things I love most

about subways! There is always a party going on down there, whether in the NY Subway, the London Underground, or the Paris Metro. NY is the best, though!!

9. I was in and out of that station twice a day for three years (high school) and fouryears (college)..

...and never saw anything like that. That's great, which is why I love New York!!

(of course those years were 1963-1970!)

11. WOW, what a difference from when I lived on Union Square West during art school

in the early 80s. Back then it was full of junkies and pimps. I remember I had to get off at stops blocks away and walk to my apt. Once I put a fan down next to my dad's car, went to the other side of the car and came back around for the fan and it was gone and no where in sight. My dad and I still laugh about that.

12. Exactly! Joy in those faces.

We will overcome. I won't live to see it (I am 70), but I will do everything I can to stop this Fascist takeover of our country.

15. Love it!

Nice to see a bunch of people having fun and enjoying themselves so spontaneously and without inhibition. Makes me smile.
