It would appear that Spanky's performance today

with the NATO Sec Gen went over like the proverbial turd in the punchbowl in the European press: https://www.aftenposten.no/verden/i/OnJkMq/Seks-betente-saker-splitter-Europa-og-USA-Det-er-umulig-a-overdrive-hva-Trump-har-revet-ned

Google Translate does OK with this article, which basically says that some EU leaders think there is no more US-Europe alliance; one person said it was impossible to overstate what Trump has torn down, and another said, "With friends like this, who needs enemies?"

I think that's what got Obama the Nobel Peace Prize. If they had one, the Nobel Committee probably would have awarded him the "Nobel 'Thank God That Insanity Is Over' Prize."

They may be willing to trust a Dem president on a short-term project, but if you were giving up something major (like on climate change or a trade deal) on the hope that the U.S. will keep it's word, I would not pin my hopes on any Republican administration.

The EU will take the next logical step and become a federal republic, with navy, army and air forces. If Britain revokes the Brexit referendum, it is game over for NATO.

The US will degrade back to the regional power of the Western Hemisphere.

If the US were no longer a world power then maybe we could use our tax dollars to benefit our own people! How great is THAT! We have squandered trillions in the Middle East when we just could have bought their oil for a higher price, how stupid is that! Maybe we could just be one among nations and have more peace!

What I think will happen is that there will be a 'hardcore EU' with very close political, economic and military integration. There will be a European Economic Area for the more independent nations of Europe (UK, Norway, Switzerland, some others) that get together on things that make sense and go their own way on other matters. NATO would still exist as Canada is often forgotten here and Canada will generally stand with Europe on matters military.

Time for Europe to join the resistance
Trump's renown is rooted in American hero myths. Trump says that women like Carla Bruni lust after him, something that women like Carla Bruni vehemently deny. Trump says he is exorbitantly rich, yet Trump ran himself into the ground with his casinos to the point that he was 295 million dollars in debt in 1990. He was bailed out by the banks and by his father. The greatest myth, though, has to do with Trump's alleged negotiating expertise. This too is nonsense. Trump was never proficient in the art of the deal. As a businessman, he paid far too much for substandard properties and has shown no patience as a politician. He isn't curious. His preparation is nonexistent. Strategy and tactics are both foreign to him. Trump is only proficient in destruction. And that's what he does.

He backed out of the Paris climate agreement while promising a "better deal for America." But nothing came of the promise, neither a plan nor meaningful talks. In Trump's Washington, the only thing that matters is dismantling the legacy of his predecessor, Barack Obama. Trump also promised to improve Obama's health care plan, but the details are complex and bothersome. So Trump destroyed Obamacare and has done nothing to replace it.

Now, he is playing the same game on the world stage with the Iran nuclear deal. Trump refers to it as "the worst deal ever," which is why he has now pulled the U.S. out of it. The negotiations that resulted in the deal in 2015 were a masterpiece of international diplomacy, but there are no plans in place to launch new talks.

While I was in Europe in March, I couldn’t find cnn international on Tv not even at a holiday inn in Frankfurt. BBC, Sky and a Chinese news channel in English were highly critical of the US and one commentator said we are a failing empire under twitler. Basically no leadership in the US anymore.

The US reneged on its agreement with Iran and reinstates sanctions. Europe is arranging sanction blockers.

Next logical step is EU sanctions against the US. Or some form of trade tariffs.

The orange creature in the WH has done plenty of damage.

My family left horrors behind for a better life in America and they found it, as did many others. Now we want to deny that to others, ignore the world's suffering. It's not that difficult when many of the needs and suffering of our own citizens are disregarded and people are left outside with the trash.

Trumpers know nothing or care nothing for history and that's typical of our story. A white washed fairy tale of the brilliant founding fathers who are to be revered, kind of like trump, because most of them were, except of course they were literate, and a couple actually cared about the country. But most were in it for themselves, a very American trait, once those pesky Indians were taken care of.

Now that the forces of evil are in complete control, our days are numbered.

superpower to being very vulnerable is to piss of the rest of the world, including our allies.

He's managed to do that in a year and a half. We can't stand against the rest of the world, no matter how many nukes we have. If China, the Muslim world, European players, most of the Latin world, and Russia think our time has come...then we have serious problems.
