Have There Been Any Postings On The Voter Turnout For The Midterms?....

I'm curious as to the numbers of people that came out to vote in the Midterms. We were saying that it would take record number of voters to beat the Repugs. Did we in fact have record number of voters?

1. This might help

https://www.npr.org/2018/11/08/665197690/a-boatload-of-ballots-midterm-voter-turnout-hit-50-year-high
Voter turnout on Tuesday was massive: More than 47 percent of the voting-eligible population cast a ballot in the midterm elections on Tuesday, according to early estimates from the United States Election Project.

"Almost half of possible voters actually voted" might not sound impressive. But for a U.S. midterm election, it's a whopping figure. Compare that with just 36.7 percent in 2014, and 41 percent in 2010.

5. One of the highest for a midterm election

But not higher than for a presidential election.

I have seen estimates that say 54% in Ohio (that's pushing into presidential figures) and the link says estimates of over 60% in Kansas and Minnesota

6. Not sure of final figures, but

From the link above:https://www.npr.org/2018/11/08/665197690/a-boatload-of-ballots-midterm-voter-turnout-hit-50-year-high
All told, more than 110 million Americans cast a ballot for their congressional representative in Tuesday's midterm elections, according to a Wednesday estimate from the Election Project.

Voter tallies for the House races, as calculated by The New York Times, show that more Democrats voted than Republicans. That was expected, given Democratic outrage at the Trump administration. But the total increase in turnout, compared with 2014, held true for both parties.

Much more, including notes about the attempts at voter suppression.
