Yet another discussion with a non con who votes usually for Democrats but who thinks most Democrats

are CORPORATE and compromised and so on.

SIGH

Close friend, her husband and I jam almost everyday, rocknroll.

Votes for democrats but believes all kinds of NONSENSE about our party and some of our people. And i tried by saying "write down all the things you think are bad about for instance Hillary, that you dont like about her, and we can do a fact check together and see what we see."

So far she hasn't taken me up on it. Why does this matter, because they are starting to talk the SAME way about Kamala, Joe, etc.

BIGGER sigh.

I thought if I could show her most of what she THINKS she doesnt like about a prominent Democrat is not true she would understand that probably the shit she believes about other Democrats similarly is not true.

Oh well, dont say I didnt warn you if this goes south on us.

Stein was nothing but a Russian tool and puppet. People like Sarandon who won't vote for the Dem because they aren't progressive enough are just Russian tools & useful idiots. They've always been around and always will. This doesn't mean we lose. It just means we have to be vigilant about the Russian bots and call them out all the time, even when voiced by so-called progressives, like the Walk Away movement.

many people in our party want o make criticism equitable to a purity test, and instead want to make our politicians above reproach and our job as citizens doing the policing of our own politicians...our own house, unnecessary. Its never unnecessary. Its our job. We shouldn't abdicate it. Nor should we be afraid of fielding criticism. I appreciate that Eliot was interested in looking directly at the arguments of his friend and digging into them together.

I said Sarandon is a purist, and she doesn't vote Dem. I have no problem with people criticizing Dems, I certainly do that, as long as they vote Democrat, I'm ok. What I'm not ok with is carping and then not voting or voting for unwinnable candidates like Nader instead of voting for the Democrat who could make a real difference in our lives.

I confess I have had ZERO success trying to reach a common mind with Trump voters about what causes move them.

But with a soft Democrat I think it might work.

Centering the person and what they care about and taking the weight of the burden off a candidate's personality.
