4. There are a lot of people here that don't realize this.

They're banking on Mueller bringing him down instead of focusing on voting him out in 2020, which is the far, far more likely scenario that he leaves office.

6. TBH, I think it was a mixture.

This is my personal theory. I think Trump knew what was happening, but was given plausible deniability at the same time. Trump probably said, “Do whatever you need to do,” and kept himself out of it.

He has to avoid looking partisan. Democrats in Congress on the other hand - If they have something, they should drop it. Same for state AGs. Anything to throw Trump off.
