Chuck Todd Asks Tim Kaine if FBI 'Overreacted' By Investigating Trump As Russian Agent
Isn't Tim Kaine the candidate who may have been cheated out of the vice presidency through the complicity/machinations/collusion/conspiracy of Trump and the Russians?
The political world is still shaking over the New York Times‘ bombshell report that the FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation into whether Donald Trump was acting as a Russian agent following the firing of FBI Director James Comey, but Meet the Press host Chuck Todd wonders if the bureau was overreacting by probing Trump’s behavior.
snip =========================================== Kaine cited some of the many reasons that the FBI had to suspect Trump, including Trump’s actions during the 2016 campaign, as well as “nearly 100 documented instances of ties between the Trump campaign, transition and administration with Russia, bizarre failure to be honest about meetings, and now this indication that President Trump has gone to unusual lengths to hide the content of discussions with Vladimir Putin.”
“Are you at all concerned though, that the FBI look like it overreacted in trying to investigate a sitting president this way?” Todd asked. “I mean, this is a pretty alarming investigation, that the sitting president was acting against the interests of the United States of America.” “Well, I flip the question around, Chuck,” Kaine replied. “I think it’s less, ‘Did the FBI overreact?’, I think the question is this. They had to have a very deep level of concern about this president to take this step.” https://www.mediaite.com/tv/chuck-todd-asks-tim-kaine-if-fbi-overreacted-by-investigating-trump-as-russian-agent/

11. Totally agree!
His "reporting" is just weird at times. It is like he is presenting with a split personality. I don't watch him any more. Give me Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell.

13. ABC, CBS also carrying water
Just watched overnight broadcast news for a few minutes on ABC and CBS. Both featured Republican, Huckabee, Trump responses to "claims" in NYT and WaPo. CBS had 1 statement by Sen. Durbin as balance to Pirro, Trump, Huckabee, Cruz, and some Repug I didn't recognize.
They're also still pushing "compromise" and "deal" to end the shutdown. Despicable bastards want eyeballs and advertisers at any cost. They also appear to want to continue GOP rule for tax break kickbacks. |

15. ABC just featured Monica special program helping convince Trumpers they did right voting for him
Rather than delving into Trump's past relationships or transgressions including campaign violations with the payoffs, ABC instead hyped their new show that ran last week featuring Bill's transgressions and accusations against him from other women. A friend of mine was enraged after fending off phone call from her in-laws who watched the program which set them off believing Bill was worse than Trump.

20. It's beyond horrible the
way the US m$m manufactures and manipulates the facts to get the scenario they want.
All those stupid known Liars on to make their case. They have a tape of trump saying it's the #trumpShutDown. Don't they believe the Puppetrump? Yeah, it seems they want the tax cuts from the asshole who labels them "fake news", while the world is crumbling down around them. |

21. tv -- of, by, and for millionaires
I check tv to see what most of the public is getting for news. They always leave out a lot, in order to fit between commercials, but they also routinely 'balance' things by elevating or depressing viewpoints as needed. This is not factual reporting, it's manipulative reporting.
For real news, I read. Most people don't have the time it takes to get anything near a full view of any given news event. TV doesn't give them a good snapshot. |

23. No, tv doesn't help
Americans get the real story.
That's why it was a little surreal that we had our BlueWave in spite of US Manufacturing$$$Manipulative "news". They know the majority of our country wants to put a stop to Puppetrump.. and yet they continue. I read they were quite depressive as far as our Victory in the House, too. Must have shocked their little senses.. they tried so hard. Although, it seems that would make for more interesting "news" than just Puppetrumputin selling our country down the river. ![]() It's no wonder Rachel Maddow's show is so Popular! |

10. Chuck Todd is much more interested in snagging invites to all of the A-List DC
cocktail parties than he is in truth and justice. He's said it himself--"access" is more important than facts.

18. Good example of how media and good chunk of Americans normalize Russia being arm of Repub party
Todd's question reflects the attitude that Trump & Co. are trying to achieve that this is all just a political witch hunt rather than deadly serious for our national security and to protect our democracy and election system from adversarial foreign subversion.
