And so the confrontation begins, as I anticipated just hours ago. Maduro expels US diplomats, they refuse to leave. If he tries to force them out, US will respond, with 'all options on the table' (military intervention). This is a total reality show, invent a reason to invade.
Statement rom Pompeo:

I wouldn't want to be in their position. Maduro controls the army.

I do know that Marco Rubio has been raising hell about Maduro.

Likely, he couldn't point to Venezuela on a globe, but he needs a conflict for distraction as well as self aggrandizement.

1st) call Beijing...
2nd) arrest any diplomat refusing to leave Venezuela for violating Venezuelan law...
3rd) bring charges, arraign, then begin trial...
4th) we know many (if not most) Venezuelan problems are trump inspired...any conflict with trump will rally the Venezuelan people behind Maduro...
...Hugo would be proud...

A stinging statement from Pompeo refers to "former president Nicolas Maduro" and says he doesn't have the legal authority to break diplomatic ties with the US or declare US diplomats "persona non grata." It calls on the Venezuelan military to protect US citizens in Venezuela
