Ari Melber did it again
I'm getting sick of watching the Beat with Ari Melber on MSNBC and him giving time to Trump suckers. Tonight he had Annemarie McAvoy on who was Rick Gates' defense attorney. She is a FRIEND of Roger Stone. And Ari let her tell the world why she thinks Andrew McCabe is lying about everything he said about Trump.

7. Maybe it is because it is a news show?
Which typically presents both sides of a story or issue so the viewer can make informed decisions.
His show is not a Trump tweet or a DU thread; why are so many people here opposed to journalism? on edit: Of course anyone is free to not watch a show if they believe it is inherently unfair or if they simply don't like it. But I am growing increasingly concerned about the number of people on this forum who want all content on their TV, especially anything on MSNBC, to present only the liberal/Democratic point of view. |

I give Ari the benefit of the doubt. It makes me uncomfortable too, but I value his willingness to strive for comprehensive coverage. Watching Faux Noise is more than I can stomach, so this is the best I can do. Also, I kind of admire Ari’s sly ability to maintain his equipoise while rightwing creepy crawlers ooze their evil slime. They never come off well. It isn’t his job to protect me from exposure to the monster.

Apparently even a few of the Fox daytime guys are doing some of it. But I don’t watch FOX because they show only has one perspective. If FOX ever starts being about the truth rather than Trump spin I would watch them as well. His program and guests are just too annoying. Likewise, Chuck Todd has far too many people on who are all too willing to paint Democrats as this vast far-out crowd of left-wing nuts who want no one to work for a living and the government to give them everything.
And when Noah Rothman is on Morning Joe, I usually mute or turn off completely. He is generally clueless white and thinks white privilege is a figment of everyone’s imagination. What I don’t understand is why MSNBC, a cable outlet with liberals as 80% or more as its viewers chooses the people they do to portray the Republican side. I’m willing to listen to rational Republicans, who granted are a scarce species these days, but I hope never to see the likes of Hugh Hewitt on MSNBC. Who the hell do they think garners them all those viewer ratings? It isn’t Trump’s Republican deplorables who have their Stepford eyeballs glued to Fox to get their daily dose of state propaganda. |

culture well, with the old school hip-hop references.
Ari's style is about trying to juxtapose disparate elements of culture (like with the "fall back" segment he does), to see how it all aligns, ie a postmodernist approach that defines Gen-X and the 80's and 90's era. I think this is what he's trying to do with bringing on Trumpers, to get that contrast. Don't care to hear them, but Ari often goes at them hard, while being fair. |
