Trump says he's not inclined to let former counsel McGahn testify to Congress

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Thursday he did not believe he would allow former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify to committees in Congress, saying McGahn had already spoken to the special counsel on the Russia probe.

“I would say it’s done,” Trump told Fox News.

“I’ve had him testifying already for 30 hours,” Trump said, referring to McGahn’s testimony to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.

Trump said allowing McGahn to testify would open the gates for others to be called.

He likely will lose, but a long court battle is still good for him.

It keeps all this stuff in the news during an election year. What if the House wins the subpoena fight after months in court (which it almost certainly would) and McGahn offers damning testimony against Trump just before the election? That could be an exploding cigar. I think this is all just because it's the way Trump has always done business.

His way involves making the price of going after him as high as possible. Make you waste time, resources, even air as you have to contest every little victory no matter how small, while he publicly berates you every day.

Trump probably figures he can delay until after the election. But he also controls the timing. If he senses he can't delay long enough, he'll suddenly drop the fight long before the election, then call McGahn a liar and change the subject.

He waived privileges and now he's invoking privileges? Muther grabber. So sick of him.
How's about some of these Aholes just going out to a microphone and start talking? The folks who get charged in this admin do less time than local misdemeanor in the paper. Just go talk to the press. Be a fricken patriot. god damn.

For a group of M effers who just run roughshod all over every damn rule and law, they get real tight in the 'whites', and real rigid and unbending, when they have to break the law for the rest of us. Oaths mean nothing. NOTHING.

It will mostly be a reflection on Don McGahn.

There is no executive privilege.
