Help me out here:
I was just having a guilty pleasure moment perusing photos from last night's Met Gala on HuffPo. While also tsk tsking at the excess, waste, and poor taste (part of what makes it pleasurable... 😂 I read this:
HuffPo is a media co. with a liberal bent, founded by A. Huffintgton and Andrew Breitbart.????!
WTF ???!!!!
We are doomed. It's all one big rigged effin' racket...

(2,343 posts)Breitbart was ultra liberal at one time. He got mad though when he was outed as gay so he went hard core right wing? Maybe I'm not 100% accurate. I could be getting him confused with someone else. I'll do some research...

(25,586 posts)At some point AOL bought it and Ariana Huffington switched teams and made it more liberal. Its mostly a clickbait shitshow for simpletons at this point, irrespective of any editorial bent it may claim.

(101,730 posts)and spoke at CA Dem convention in 2005. Huffington Post came on line with Arianna and four investors, including Breitbart, but also the current CEO of BuzzFeed in 2005, when Ariana was already a Democrat. AOL did not acquire it until 2011--six years later. Arianna continued as editor-in-chief under AOL ownership until 2016; Verizon negotiated to buy it in late 2015.

(2,343 posts)(so take it with a grain of salt) he supposedly had an epiphany while watching the clarence Thomas hearings and got made cuz liberals were being mean, so he became conservative. So, I guess he was conservative when he helped create huffpo? Whatever, now I'm confused. I just realized I don't know anything. Maybe I'll become a conservative.

It should be noted that Ariana Huffington was a Republican until 2004. This isn't hidden information.

(101,730 posts)Ariana Huffington frequently appeared on cable "news" to debate him. He was one of her original four partners in 2005. She and her partners (including the now CEO of Buzzfeed) deny he had any development role though he did help to fund.
