On Memorial weekend 2019, the word is BETRAYAL

"Traitor" comes from the word "betrayal." To those who say we can't call it treason because we aren't in a war, a war doesn't have to involve shooting. And it doesn't even require a declaration by Congress anymore.

This weekend, in the halls of power, at the highest levels, is an entire political party that doesn't flinch
at betraying the values, laws, history that thousands of our precious troops bled and died for. My dad fought in the Pacific in World War II and was traumatized for life. My former husband fought in Vietnam and came home changed forever. When I think about the thousands upon thousands of the silent dead who made the ultimate sacrifice and look at this cowardly demented betrayer doing the bidding of Russia's president, doing his best to wreck all that this country has stood for since its inception, I want to scream.

What happens to men like Barr, Graham, Nunes, McConnell, and all the rest? What's in it for them to turn a blind eye to what has happened and is unfolding like a sick, sick tragedy by the minute? On this Memorial weekend, as we remember those who didn't make it home to their loved ones, how can anyone be complacent?

Trump and co-conspiratorsí sell out of our country.

2. My dad also, WWII Navy, Phillipines.

Found himself in the water when his ship suffered secondary fire.

After he came home, he clenched his mouth and tears came to his eyes when my mom tried to have him talk about his experience

Then we have something like 'this' shirking his 'duty' as executive commander. What a colossal sick joke.

My dad died suddenly one morning, aortic aneurysm, 45 years old, I was 13.

I honor my dad for his service and especially patriotism which appears missing from many seated in our government presently.

I also honor all others for their service. Thank you.

3. I am constantly amazed

by the shameless hypocrisy of the Republicans in Congress. All but 1 are perfectly happy to talk about the Orange Buffoon behind his back, but will do nothing to honor their oath to uphold the Constitution and therefore the rule of law. My dad was a 17year old draftee who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was part of the contingent that liberated Dachau. He never fully recovered. As a little girl, I can remember him waking up with nightmares. My husband is a disabled Vietnam veteran. The orange buffoon and everyone who keeps him in power (like Barr and Graham) are a disgrace to every man and woman who actually served in combat and especially those that never came back. I am with you Blue Flower, it is so frustrating to be witness to what is happening under this perverted administration.
