I'm wondering if the foot dragging on impeaching Trump

is caused by fear of the "civil war" we've been promised by some trumpists
if he's impeached?
I hope the House isn't intimidated by the right wing militia monkeys.
I know I'm not.

1. Who's afraid of right wing militia monkeys?

Those bloviating lame brains can't even rise up from their Cheeto-crusted la-z-boys

10. Those people have murdered Americans. I do think that the idea should be to go after them.

Don't back down. Fascists only understand force.

2. There aren't enough votes in the house to start an impeachment. It's as simple as that.

3. Your question presumes foot-dragging, a myth since a) not the votes for a resolution to pass and

b) groundwork being laid that will serve impeachment investigation when it is timely.

5. They are clearly foot dragging

Mueller finished more than 65 days ago and they haven't called one witness.

7. They have "called witnesses" (i.e., subpoenas.) They're being ignored for now.

It's impossible to start an impeachment inquiry unless there are 218 votes in the house to do so. There are presently 50. That's just reality, not "foot dragging."

11. It's sad and telling that you have to "explain" the

unprecedented obstruction that the House has faced trying to assemble a case to those who would accuse them. Especially when the accusers havenít uttered a word about the total failure of Republicans to serve the American people.

4. I just think Pelosi doesn't want impeachment at all

I don't think she wants the House to do an inquiry. I don't think she wants Democrats even talking about it. That's my reading.

8. Silly statement, but it doesn't matter what Pelosi wants or doesn't want.

Without 218 votes in the house, no impeachment inquiry can be started.

13. Pelosi's a simple target, but unless Americans move their reps to support it, it ain't gonna happen.

9. The worst that could happen is that

Republicans, being shamed by Justin Amash and reading the tea leaves, start backing an impeachment inquiry.

THEN, if Democrats start agreeing, it will be like they were waiting for republican approval for them to get on board.

It would just reinforce the impression of democrats being weak.

Well, if it walks/talks etc......

12. I think Pelosi et al are maneuvering for timing

She probably feels it would be much more effective if itís closer to the elections than it is now. Maybe in the late Summer or Fall when a lot of the candidates get thinned out of the herd. More people will be interested. She also wants solid evidence.

14. I think Pelosi

And a few others know a lot more of what's going on then we know, and are getting their ducks in a row , and maybe waiting for more shoes to drop exposing trump and many others involved with a lot of russian issues , and corruption going on. I trust Pelosi will handle it good as she's been already doing. Major news exposing many more may be soon coming out, and they are aware of it, plus planning for actions may be in the works already . We don't know yet , but I think will very soon.
