It also shows a picture of Maddow and calls her a media lapdog. They must have aired it 10 times last night and I've seen it a couple times this morning already. MSNBC should have done the right thing, like CNN, and refused to air it.

(62,343 posts)on cable and network. I live in Iowa so that is not surprising.
We are also getting a heavy dose of ads by the RNC against our local Dem reps (in our case Loebsack and Bustos)

(4,793 posts)I have seen the commercial. It looks worse than a high school youtube video. I don't think it will convince anyone. But trump is burning his campaign money to present them.

(12,264 posts)This will be the year of the nasty nasty nasty commercial. If we nominate Bernie or Elizabeth, it will be even worse. The networks and local stations get into some shaky legal ground refusing political ad buys.
As someone else said these may be local cable buys, it is hard to notice the difference sometimes. But local cable companies have a certain amount of spots they can sell locally. There are also mass cable buys that don't designate what channels they run on. They can ask NOT to run on a certain station, but normally it is just a rotation on all of the channels.
Get ready to hit the mute button it is going to be a long year people.

(1,956 posts)First, the commercials are a clear sign of desperation. Nobody has to run commercials attacking an impeachment inquiry if they did nothing wrong. Most Americans realize that. "Responding" to them only lends credibility. Attempting to "refute" something that is 100% false would be like Obama running adds complaining about the "not born here"/"secret Muslim" nonsense. They can run commercials all they want distorting the truth about the Bidens, the prior investigations, withholding of monies and everything else but the facade crumbles fast with a cursory glance at the actual facts.
