Republicans Consider Admitting Quid Pro Quo

"SNIP.....

“A growing number of Senate Republicans are ready to acknowledge that President Trump used U.S. military aid as leverage to force Ukraine to investigate former vice president Joe Biden and his family as the president repeatedly denies a quid pro quo,” the Washington Post reports.

“In this shift in strategy to defend Trump, these Republicans are insisting that the president’s action was not illegal and does not rise to the level of an impeachable offense as the Democratic-led House moves forward with the open phase of its probe.l

“But the shift among Senate Republicans could complicate the message coming from Trump as he furiously fights the claim that he had withheld U.S. aid from Ukraine to pressure it to dig up dirt on a political rival, even as an increasing number of Republicans wonder how long they can continue to argue that no quid pro quo was at play in the matter.”

besides "process", is to say, "Yeah, we did it but it is nothing wrong and no big deal. It is done all the time". That is what the fucking moron will say in his fireside chat.

Trump says that he never did it, or

Trump did it, making him a liar, but what he did is legal.

If it were legal, why was all the information hidden on a secret, restricted access server?

And if it were legal, why did Trump and the GOP spend so much time attacking all the various witnesses who actually told the truth about what Trump did?

A new legal precedent, thanks to the GOP?

Judge: "Mr. Dahmer, you've been accused of raping, killing and eating 17 men. How do you plea?'

Dahmer's attorney: "Get over it, your honor."

nothing wrong with that. It will be up to the Democrats to make the case why not this is only wrong, illegal, but sets out foreign policy open to bribery to spread lies against domestic political “enemies”

This is worse than Nixon because it is conspiring with a foreign power

If we allow this to happen, we will never recover. They are lowering the bar and bringing this country down to their dishonest, crooked level.

With over half the country supporting impeachment and removal, Republicans would be smart to unconditionally surrender. Anything less will just cause more self-harm.
