(3,363 posts)Bevin has to file for a recount with the courts and a Judge has to approve it. Then Bevin has to pay for it.
I'd imagine the judge will want to see evidence of the so-called "irregularities" Bevin is talking about. But seeing as Republicans won every other seat besides Governor, that's a pretty weak argument.

This is another huge lesson for the national elections most of us are over-focused on: KY voters SPLIT POWER between the parties. They elected a DEMOCRATIC governor, but elected REPUBLICANS to all other offices. Voters often do this when shifting top offices to the other party.

(93,883 posts)...they're going with the Trump message that Bevin was a loser that Trump had to drag over the finish line.

(1,713 posts)It's a close race. Of course, the asshole isn't going to concede. He will huddle with Attorneys first. This isn't strange. It's normal. That said, he's done. All precincts are in and the SOS has stated Bevin fell short. He can ask a judge for a recount and I hope he gets one. KY isn't known for election misconduct like many states. Relax, gave your coffee and let the process play out

(82,849 posts)Bevin's predicament may be a dry run for Trump next year. What sort of tactics, fair and foul, will Bevin employ to overturn the will of the voters? He will certainly be supported by the party apparatus in Kentucky in whatever gambit he tries to steal the election. Trump's henchmen will be watching very closely to see what plays and what doesn't, as well as providing behind the scenes support and advice.
