Another day, another Ukraine inquiry bombshell

Ukraine inquiry

President Donald Trump asked Attorney General William Barr to hold a news conference in September and publicly declare that he broke no laws during a call with the Ukrainian leader that is now at the heart of a Democratic impeachment inquiry, The Washington Post reported. Barr said no. Trump has told aides he wishes the attorney general had held the news conference, according to the paper. But even without a news conference, the Justice Department announced that prosecutors had found no wrongdoing by the President, at least as it relates to campaign finance law. Meanwhile, former National Security Adviser John Bolton is scheduled to appear today on Capitol Hill for a deposition in the inquiry, but it’s unclear if he’ll show up.

Washington Post: Trump asked for Barr to host news conference clearing him on Ukraine

(CNN) - President Donald Trump asked that Attorney General William Barr hold a news conference clearing him of legal wrongdoing with regard to his phone call pressuring the Ukrainian President to investigate Democrats -- but Barr refused, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the paper reported that Trump's request came sometime around the White House's September 25 release of a transcript of the call. It was conveyed to White House officials and then the Justice Department. Trump has brought up Barr's refusal to aides over the past few weeks and how he wishes the attorney general had held the news conference, Trump advisers told the Post.

The Justice Department did not comment when reached by CNN on Wednesday. Overnight, Trump denied the report, calling it "untrue" and again attacking the media.

Really, Mr. no collusion no obstruction liar has finally found a lie he won't support? Weird? Of course he's still doing his toad job of protecting the presidents criminality and treason and helping with the treason even, but guess there is a cost line he won't approach - who would have ever suspected this after his shenanigans with Mueller and going around to other countries to hurt and hit our intelligence gathering? I certainly don't recognize this current Barr because all he has shown heretofore is a complete and total disregard for our actual laws. Did he want more bribes and drumpf just wouldn't go along, I know respect for the law certainly wasn't the consideration since he's not been concerned with it one bit since his appointment.

maybe he's just trying to stay out of a situation where he would have to recuse himself.
