a thing that cant be overlooked about the blue wave.

ok, 2 things- it's a rainbow wave, period.

the big thing, tho, is that it isnt just a wave of voters, it's a wave of candidates.
great candidates.
the bottom of the ballot is alive, and pushing this wave like crazy.

illinois didnt just dump the ruiner, they swept into the collar counties in big, big numbers. fueled by many, many new and irregular voters. this is exactly what they are pointing at about the shift in the suburbs.

this is what democracy looks like.
there's no stopping this wave people.
as my (many of our) old friend will pitt once said to me and the rest of the cegelis campaign on election eve- stout hearts.

eta- i tried to find will's old post, but i cant seem to get in du2. any search wizards here? election eve 2004, prolly in illinois. i actually have a hard copy somewhere, maybe. it had a story about u.s. grant.

some Dem strategists want them and their issues ignored. Obama had it right in 2018 - Dems were running on good NEW ideas, including Med4All, college loans, income inequality, etc.

This is NOT the election to ruin our momentum. Dems can’t afford to listen to the Mark Penn wing of the party.

yeah, y'all behave yourselves for 3-4 elections and we might let you back in the party. i mean, we wont stop you form voting, but dont plan on getting any help on the ballot if you think you are going to jump on OUR wave.
show us a little of your alleged rugged individualism first.

4. I think this wave may move somewhat to the left of the Democratic party as a whole

I firmly believe Trump will be his own worst enemy in the upcoming campaign and is already bringing new Democratic voters to the polls all by himself. Our presidential candidates seem content to quibble over health care plan details and give the RWers more talking points while the Democratic leaders of the future are now being elected to their first public offices by energized voters that don't give a rat's butt about playing it safe . Progressives (like the WFP) are being elected in the inner cities while the surrounding counties are going blue as Trump loses his affluent suburban swing voters.

This is the time to put details and differences into our back pockets and hunker down for approaching storm and hopefully the trunami will come that will sweep the criminal class from power. Then we have to figure out how to put these wolves on a leash as well as ferret out all the monkey-wrenchers trying to dismantle all our regulatory systems. We have to put an end to this reign of these wannabe masters of the universe.

the harder you try, the harder they push back.

the undoing of all this makes the downticket so important. that is where the rubber meets the road.
