Today Impeachment, predicting pardons tomorrowTrump has only one move, double down. Nothing doubles down more than pardoning and with Manafort out of double jeopardy it's perfect for him and shows all the co conspirators that they will be saved if they just stay quiet. Anybody who is not against Trump at this point isn't going to object to a pardon. After it is done it will be seen as expected, normal and not THAT bad. Nauseating.

1. i'm really hoping they are moving on further articles.
they are fools if they dont have obstruction of justice article written already.
if he pardons any involved in '16, throw that on the pile. |

8. I am already there
The fact that the Republicans are basically asserting that there will be one set of laws for Republicans and another for everyone else is in itself nauseating. I can understand an attempt to argue on Article I but Article II should have unanimous assent. Even Republicans should be unanimous on the point of process and accountability. It makes my stomach turn. |

3. Trump would only ever pardon himself or one of his children or a celebrity.
He doesn't care about any of the other fools he associates himself with. He has no loyalty to them and thinks they are idiots for getting caught.

4. I've been thinking that all week.
Especially with Flynn. The Judge is going to throw the book at him and Trump will be santa next week. Smh

5. Not tomorrow
Pardons (if any) will most likely occur right after election day (win or lose).
Unless there becomes a reason to think that one would help him with his base. |

9. I heard yesterday that
Federal employees were given off on December 24th (plus would sign the appropriations that includes a 3.1% pay increase for federal employees.
ETA - https://www.govexec.com/pay-benefits/2019/12/surprise-move-trump-gives-federal-employees-christmas-eve/161974/ The Christmas Eve "off" usually happens if it occurs on a Monday (with Christmas Day on a Tuesday) and a day off has been given in the past if Christmas Day is on a Thursday (and the administrative day will become that Friday the 26th). So this is an odd one (often Departments have given 2-hours off on Christmas Eve but had never experienced a near-middle of the week complete day off like this). |

13. The pardons come the day after the next election in Nov 2020
He'll either be a lame duck or in full on burn it down to the ground mode.
