For the record, Chris Matthews used aweful pics of Speaker Pelosi last nightLast edited Sat Dec 21, 2019, 01:33 PM - Edit history (1)
Not the first time noticed.
Surely MSNBC knows the GOP demonizes this strong, dedicated leader. So why persist with the least flattering pictures? Caveat Emptor! Link to tweet Just rejoined DirectTV after many years without and, quite frankly, find needed daily trips to view Democracy Now to find a broader spectrum of world news. Lawrence McDonnell is my personal favorite because he asks more open ended questions imho. That said MSNBC’s coverage of the Impeachment Hearings was stellar. Why so much free air time for some rather lengthy Mr. Bloomberg interviews. Is he paying for them?

1. Did HB use stills or are the screenshots from a tape loop?
FWIW, Matthews has been HIGHLY complimentary of Speaker Pelosi throughout the impeachment process.
I asked about still or tape loop because it's super-easy to make unflattering screenshots from a tape loop. |

2. This was done to Hillary Clinton repeatedly, now it's Nancy Pelosi
It's not just Chris Matthews, it seems most of the American news media go out of their way to select unflattering photos whenever they do stories on powerful women of a certain age.
Of course there are plenty of flattering, nice-looking photos of Nancy Pelosi available, but they don't want to use any of those. Oh no! they want to use pics that make her look older, and maybe her hair or make-up aren't so great, because they want her to look as shrewish as possible. Do they do the same thing to Chump, Pence, Barr or any other men? Of course not! It's just the powerful women they have to demean. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

6. It's a gotcha thing. Childish, unprofessional, and rampant these days.
Glad to see someone push back on this - more people should.

8. I think it
is less that than he's tries to get a grossly disrupted system to fit traditional rules. When he can't do that he lashes out at the nearest person to blame. It's Nancy's turn.
