They think they get to decide a new definition of justice. Well fuck them.

What the world is seeing, and how dangerous this is, as we bear witness to the impeachment proceedings, in the county who is supposed to be the leading democracy of the west and the leader of the free world, is gobstopping… shall we examine the evidence, my friends…

A self-righteous mob of perjurers who have been explicit that they will not partake in evenhanded decision making in this matter, irrespective of the fact that they took an oath mere days ago swearing to be impartial. They can do this because regardless of what they do, they know that there are no consequences to their literal taking the piss out of and undermining the whole system of checks and balances that the constitution provides.

They are doing this because in 2020 America they can get away with it. The shining light of hope and freedom that used to emanate from America’s shores is but a spluttering ember right now. Uneven justice is no justice and I am sure that is part of the plan for the far-right coup that is certainly underway… As Pelosi says ‘Trump will be not be acquitted. You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial. And you don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation’. That message needs to be shoved into the faces of republicans everywhere… every single day. They think they get to decide a new definition of justice. Well fuck them.

When Trump is acquitted, there will be nothing to prevent him from having total, absolute power over us. His trial has shown us that he is above the law and he will be emboldened to do anything he wants. Who will stop him?

which has become extremist and destroys conservative values, and re-create a new conservative party. Minus the rabid hard right, which would inherit what they've already taken over.

Americans who actually adhere to conservative beliefs should give up the fantasy that the GOP can be rescued. In not only electing and defending Trump but also shredding long-held constitutional principles, it poses a threat to the rule of law, equal justice under the law and the American creed (“All men ...”). Their energies are best spent in the short run trying to nominate and help elect a centrist Democrat and then creating a principled center-right party from the ground up.

None of our Democratic candidates are "centrist," Biden, Warren and Klobuchar are solid liberals, but she chose a reassuring word to push people to look for the closest fit. That'd obviously be VP Biden or Sen. Klobuchar -- unless former Republican and economic conservative Sen. Warren repositioned herself. Warren did exactly what Rubin's suggesting back in the 1990s when she abandoned a GOP that had committed to an increasingly extreme and corrupt path.

I attended public schools, back in my day. Friday was always "fish Friday". My home was always "steak and potatoes". I learned to cook for 6 or more. Cooked up, chopped up and mixed a big batch of my favourite Tuna Noodle Salad for all the family and friends.
