(82,849 posts)Or are they still arguing that the statutory language that Treasury "shall" supply Congress with requested documents isn't mandatory?

(3,245 posts)what are they meaning by "evidence of questionable origin"?
One would have thought that if they had questions it would have already been investigated.
Or, are they just trying to throw shit at something that's legit?

(1,957 posts)That's why this is so laughable. The Treasury Dept already looked at this.

(1,957 posts)That the Treasury Department would have already turned over evidence of wrongdoing many years ago so this is really much ado about nothing. All it would be is tax filings and the like anyway.
Also note that the Treasury Department has already determined that they had received bogus information from Gulliani. That is the reference to "evidence of questionable origin".
This will blow up in their faces if they try to do anything with it.
