Why We Should Never Give Up.

Last edited Sun Feb 9, 2020, 05:33 PM - Edit history (1)

In 72 Democrats lost by tremendous margin to that crook Nixon. McGovern did not have a good campaign, and I worked in that one. I think we won only one state in that election, but we did not give up.
... By the next election, 4 years later, 76, Nixon was gone, he resigned, and we had a Democrat in the White House, Jimmy Carter. We do not give up. Please do not give up. We must never give up.

Part of the anti-war movement was ending the draft. And we the people made it happen. The U.S. survived, all of the military branches survived.

We can delete traitor, his thugs, their damage. I had a nice talk with younger relatives today. They have the torch and have it lit.

And correcting the damage will take time. Our country deserves that time. We can delete him in November.

did dirty tricks for nixon, too. and lee atwater aided and abetted nixon too. Lots of the same people from back then are responsible for the decline in the r's now.

With "Govern" in the last name, how could we go wrong?

Sort of like if we nominated Senator Whitehouse for President.

I don't remember Eugene McCarthy? I was out of the country during his campaign. But, from what I have heard and read, he was a fairly progressive candidate.

McGovern's workers used to visit outdoor concerts at that time and collect funds for his campaign. He was probably similar to Bernie in some ways?

By 1976, it seemed the people were ready for an honest man. They were tired of Nixon and Watergate. Jimmy, the peanut farmer with the big smile, was elected President.

They wasted no time in tearing him down. They had video of Jimmy in a boat in the middle of a small creek, being attacked by a rabid rabbit, that Jimmy was attempting to prevent from boarding his boat, with the assistance of one of his oars.

But, I don't believe in those days we felt that our country was threatened, as many feel today. It really didn't matter that much if McGovern lost, we would not feel that our country was threatened. But this time, it seems to be much different?
