Haha: Border Wall Breached by a $5.30 Rebar Ladder

.

Check out this video at the jump:

'Somebody is making money off those ladders': Smugglers use 'camouflage' ladders to cross border wall

The ladders appear to be made with two poles of 3/8-inch rebar and four thinner poles, outfitted with steps and bent over at the end in a U, to hook on the top of the wall. It's the sort of cubed rebar support structure used in construction in Mexico, called castillo.

Six meters of castillo costs 99 pesos, or about $5.30, at the Hágalo — or Do It Yourself — True Value hardware store in Juárez. There is no indication that smugglers are shopping at that store in particular.

Romero said the rebar ladders started turning up in large numbers in the El Paso sector last year in May, around the time that construction of the most recent replacement wall finished downtown. They've been a go-to method for scaling the fence in the urban footprint since.

The Trump administration has funded construction of about 100 miles of border wall during his presidency, mostly to replace existing barriers. The president has proposed spending an additional $2 billion for border wall construction under a draft White House budget.

Here is an image of what a castillo looks like, which is a lightweight version of a concrete column reinforcement, and these guys make sure that wire is rusty so it blends with the wall, making it difficult to detect.

Former Mexican president blasts Trump, says he will not pay for wall
Thu 25 Feb 2016 19.07 EST

Vicente Fox’s comments come after Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to make Mexico pay for a wall to seal off the United States’ border with Mexico

Former Mexican president Vicente Fox has given an uncompromising response to Republican frontrunner Donald Trump’s plans to make Mexico pay for a wall along the US border with Mexico.

“I’m not going to pay for that fucking wall. He should pay for it. He’s got the money,” Fox told Jorge Ramos on Fusion.

“Are you afraid that he’s going to be the next president of the United States?” Ramos asked the former Mexican president. “What would that mean for Mexico?”

“No, no, no, – democracy can not take that, crazy people that don’t know what is going on in the world today,” Fox said. “This worries me, the last caucus in Nevada ... he won 44% of Hispanics. I’d like to know who those Hispanics are, because they are followers of a false prophet,” Fox said.

Trump thinks they don't have ladders in Mexico!

I'm just pointing out that it is not the building cost, that is just a place to focus your troops and police. Without intense security a wall will be breached. It was the cost of patrolling the "Berlin Wall" that eventually brought down communism.

Ladder Purchases In Mexico Rise By 9,000%

January 25, 2017 - BREAKING NEWS, WORLD NEWS

THERE has been a 9000% rise in purchases of ladders in Mexico in the hours after US president Donald Trump indicated construction of a border wall between America and Mexico could begin in the coming days, WWN can confirm.

President Trump has assembled the greatest construction minds in America to engage in building the wall, which has sparked many Mexicans seeking entry into their northern neighbours to simply buy a ladder.

“Believe me, this will be the best wall in the history of walls. It’s incredible, people will look at the great wall of China and say ‘really, that’s a great wall, I mean have you seen America’s border wall?’ I mean, come on, that’s what they’ll say it’s true,” Trump explained earlier today.

Trump’s administration rubbished claims by his critics that a wall which will cost the taxpayer in excess of $25 billion will be ineffectual and pointless given one third of the border is already covered by walls and fencing while being manned by over 46,000 border personnel, and that immigration between the countries is at its lowest since the early 90s.

Fox said the billions of dollars that it would take to build the border wall — estimates range but he uses $25 billion — could instead be better spent on three years' worth of clean drinking water for everyone on the planet, a year without world hunger, paying 50,000 teachers for a decade and a college education for 250,000 students.

"Donald, under no circumstances will we pay for this stupid, useless, racist monument," Fox says of the border wall.

Pulling a paper from a folder, Fox reveals how "bad hombres" will defeat the border wall using only a $25 ladder.

However, Fox says the ladder would need to be at least 18 feet tall. The most recent documents from the Trump administration call for it to be up 30 feet tall. Ladders that tall run about $400 on Amazon.
