My sister had me watch this eleven minute video on climate change. I think I understand now why some people think that a candidate that isn't serious about Climate Change fails the litmus test.
However, this isn't the right place to discuss candidates.
Its possible that this video has been posted before, and maybe this isn't the right place because there's a videos forum.
But I wanted to get some feedback. If this video is true (of course it is) and we don't have much longer to fix the problem, what can be done about the fact that so many Americans are oblivious? I figure if 80% of Americans, or even 60% of Americans were deeply disturbed about Climate Change, our government wouldn't be able to ignore it so completely. Or worse than ignoring it, deny it, and worse than denying it, exacerbate the problem by increasing use of fossil fuels and encouraging it with bigger cars.
This video makes you want to get up and do something. I just don't know what to do? Any ideas?

(6,145 posts)I'm going to guess that everyone has already seen this, hence 10 recs.
I'm also going to guess that there are no easy solutions to my questions:
- how to increase the number of Americans who know and care
- what can be done as an individual
- what pressure can be brought to our government

(253 posts)Thanks for sharing this video. I had not seen it. While I consider myself to be very aware and knowledgeable about global warming, the video definitely made me realize I can learn and do more.
We all need to consume less (e.g. material things and meat), use public transportation more and plant more trees for starters.

(788 posts)their leader is a proper jackass. Although nobody can hold a candle to ours, Boris Johnson is pretty goddamn bad.
But to the situation we are in.. I wish I knew. We are in a tight spot.
