(31,683 posts)MF 45 knows that it can get away with anything and everything and no one will stop it on its path of destruction and self benefit.
Nothing. No one.
The 45 is irritated at Schiff - but not really afraid of anyone. The Senate gave it super powers.

(31,683 posts)I don't know what he has on a variety of Senators - but he knows they are as compromised as he is.
We are trapped - and the Intelligence community will not lift a finger to save themselves - or us.

(10,036 posts)He knows it and lords it over them. I know its a stretch but what the hell does he have on them that they are willing to destroy our country?

(31,683 posts)A few too many private conversations with Putin - who knows what they discussed.
Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)Trump is where he is because his type is complex and not merely dependent on those core issues you are noting that often motivate some behaviors. I agree that the coward and bully are a part of this, but that does not bring somebody into power alone.
There is much more to it. If being fearful was his actual, surface problem, then he would not have been able to manipulate his way all through his life and be an expert confidence man, exhibiting a practiced set of manipulative techniques, (quite flexibly at times) that appear to be second nature to him. He does not display timidity, shame or fright, so it is the result of his core that matters most.
Of course, there are many things we would like to think he is based on our biases and how we are different from him, but I put those aside and effort more to see his facade and also see through it. Our study of this might be useful in the future, but it is applicable to the present crises he has visited upon us all and our democracy.
That's just my opinion.

(32,992 posts)Being a Sociopath, he doesn't experience emotions like normal human beings.
His go-to is "unfair". That's how he sees anyone who doesn't give him what he wants. He's not afraid of them; he's angry and resentful. They're threats to be attacked, which is what he excels at.
I'd wager his heart rate goes down when he's yelling.

(264 posts)Hes a spoiled rotten 5 year-old that has learned (been taught?) how to manipulate all around him with childish insults and threats. That said, he still knows when to look elsewhere for targets when more qualified individuals push back. Unfair is how he thinks he gets the last word on a losing situation, because he has to have the last word.

(32,992 posts)His emotional life is stunted like a toddler's, but he has sophisticated tools to achieve those toddler ends.
He knows Confidence Man techniques; for instance: "Pacing and Leading". It's what he did with Birtherism. He didn't start it, but he took it over, used it to raise his political profile, and then abandoned it when he'd wrung out all the advantage he could gain from it.
A 5-year old doesn't know how to do that. A Sociopath does.
Those "childish" insults are designed as such, because he's communicating to people at the level of their Id.

(11,694 posts)The only way that his arguments take root is because his followers are equally idiotic. Attorney General is a position that requires Senate confirmation. Special Prosecutors do not require Senate confirmation. They are requested by the House or Senate and appointed by the Attorney General. Damn that guy is just stupid!

(14,998 posts)Mueller was vetted by the Senate when he was head of the FBI. But you are correct that a Special Prosecutor does not need to be confirmed.

(11,694 posts)The only reason he is not laughed out of office and shamed is because he has a small but significant following of fellow idiots who probably think that special prosecutors have to be approved by the Senate now.

(35,812 posts)She has memorized every single thing that Americans fear about him, will knock out with the laws he's broken, the hatred he has for 52% of the voters.
She'll beat him down like Ali beat Liston. Then she'll do selfies with the crowd.

(7,592 posts)I liked Ali a lot better as a human being, but Liston could hit like no other. Even Tyson said he would not even wanna mess with him.
Liston's death was suspicious as hell.

(7,592 posts)Liz Warren, for instance, could give Trump a serious beat down in a debate and any of those ladies would make a fine President.
Well, except for T. Gibbard or however you spell her name. IDK if she's in the running any more tho'.
