My walmart trip. What they had and what they didn't.

Let me say there is NO Covid in my state or the surrounding states.

They had no toilet paper, bleach, wipes, sanitizer, Lysol spray or liquid, ramen noodles, frozen bread dough, flour, minimal sugar, very little water, 3 cans of beans (lucky me), soups were low, pastas/sauces were low, TV dinners empty as were a lot of frozen snacks.

2. Home Depot has spray disinfectant-not Lysol though. I didn't check for Lysol.

I ordered my paper products through Target. I was going to go to Walmart tonight for dry beans and cans of tomatoes.

4. Western PA here

I don’t know about Walmart, but our Aldi was well stocked with paper products this morning. I was also in a Target where there was an ample supply of toilet paper but they were out of hand sanitizer and Lysol.

5. Central MA still fully stocked with a few exceptions...

Hand sanitizer can be dodgy to find (but can still be found) and any type of mask is impossible to find.

Otherwise shelves are well stocked. It may change, but so far we are good.

The problem will be on restocks. If other parts of the country are bare, companies will divert shipments to those locations first since they were out first.

So I expect things to tighten up soon.

8. I'm convinced that New Englanders are hardier folks than most.

Having been in a variety of stores over the past couple of weeks, the only shortages I've found were masks (sold out everywhere) and hand sanitizer (in short supply, but still available). Must be those NE winters where we've learned to subconsciously stock up on "isolation" supplies in Nov/Dec, burrowing down for the long winter ahead. We were already prepared, but didn't know it. It's the stuff we normally don't hoard that's running out now.

You're probably right on the restocks, tho.

Went to my local Stop & Shop today, they had everything except alcohol. Plenty of masks and gloves and paper products.

6. I gotta tell this story.

Last spring I found a 55 gallon drum of disinfectant at an online auction. Thinking we could use it to clean the barns at the fairgrounds I put a 30 dollar max bid on it. The auction ended and I received an invoice saying I won.... with a bid of 50 cents.

We used about 4 gallons of the drum, so I’m sitting on about 50 gallons of cleaning supplies. If anybody wants to swing by I would be happy to share. Bring your own jug.

9. The seller/auctioneer is kicking his own ass right now.

Good deal. Even just for an empty drum.

12. the auctioneer was laughing his arse off......

He was looking at hundreds of dollars of hazmat disposal costs and someone gave him 50 cents and took it away.

A sucker is born every day.

7. I'm in NC.

No shortages of anything that I saw. Plenty of alcohol, Clorox wipes, bleach, hand wipes, soup, canned food, tp, paper towels.

I didn’t look for hand sanitizer because I’ve never used that stuff.

13. At my local Kroger, only smaller containers of

alcohol were available. Half gallon sizes of bleach. Some of the dry Knorr rice and pasta packages were picked over, but plenty were left. There was BW (butt wipe).

15. Go for the dried beans. People just forget about them.

Beans, rice and corn will get you through almost anything and dried beans keep forever.
