Because we have a vaccine and it doesn't infect a quarter or half the population. Automobiles don't kill 2 million people in a month or two. But coronavirus might just well do that if it's allowed to rage out of control. That's what exponential growth does. It's very likely that 100,000,000 people will get it if the spread can't be contained. About 1% of them will die outright. Another 10% might die if they need aggressive intervention to save them and no hospital facilities are available.

It should be obvious to them, to all of them, Trump, his ass-kissing acolytes, his voters, that human life has to come first. Every human being I know -- except for a couple of Trumpers I keep in contact with out of a morbid curiosity -- every real human being I know understands that: human life first, wealth second.
