2. My daughter in law is a lab tech at a large hospital and she borrowed my wife's sewing machine today
...to make masks for people she works with.

7. How many did you make?
Takes me about 10 to 15 minutes each. Speed is not my strong suit.

6. Yes! Get sewing!
My group is making them for a nurse who is distributing them to nurses and health aides in group homes for developmentally disabled adults. The masks have a pocket to insert filter material. Also useful for the volunteers at the local food pantry who have gotten some of ours. Little places will be waiting a while for regulation masks, the need in hospitals for those is overwhelming.

10. Thanks for the info.
I'm afraid to go anywhere near a clinic, though. LOL

8. States ordering equipment are in competition for the same limited supply.
Rachel played a clip with the Massachusetts governor explaining that they are being outbid by other states or in some cases by federal agencies. Gov. Baker said that in a number of cases they had confirmations for orders, that ended up getting canceled by manufacturers.
Competing against other states on the open market for these resources is madness. A huge waste of time and energy for something that ought to be coordinated by the federal government and allocated as needed. And just ONE price per unit paid. ![]() |

12. If you still need one after Monday, PM me.
I'm on hold until Monday since my daughter developed a fever (the flu, not COVID), but I'm going to do a full re-wash of my fabric on Monday (after she is fever-free for 72 hours) and start over to make sure they are germ-free.

16. well, i did
1, my sister responded that everything she'd read said wasn't necessary unless +... married to a trumper so didn't try to correct
the other my daughter never responded to my txt about it.. i actually posed it to both that while others were making them for the health workers, maybe they could make 1 for all family members? i said we'll all need them eventually ... i'm the one with health issues. but was thinking also of my 96 yr dad he's confined at home now after a recent fall, but a family member is with him 24/7 hrs for the time being.. long story 🙁 ✌🏼 |

11. I just sliced a sliver of my forefinger off with the rolling cutter. I screamed and my dog went
skedaddling under the bed.
On blood thinners and it won't stop bleeding. Not serious, just messy. Got up to 22 masks, but now must take a break because I don't want blood spots on them. LOL. These are pretty comfy, actually, although my finger hurts. I need drugs. Or booze. Or both. |

14. I am still making them
My daughter and granddaughter are passing them out at their workplaces. People are clamoring for them. Elastic is like gold right now. Mine are on hold until I get some more in.
